Instructions for authors

1. Manuscript
Electronic submission of manuscript is preferred (postscript or pdf file). Send your manuscript by e-mail to nnw@cs.cas.cz. In case the electronic submission is not possible three copies of the manuscript should be submitted to the Editorial Board, Institute of Computer Science, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Pod Vodarenskou vezi 2, 182 07 Prague 8, Czech Republic. The submitted manuscripts must be written in good English and must include the headings, abstract, key words, full text, figure and table captions, and references.
2. Copyright
Original papers (not published or not simultaneously submitted to another journal) will be reviewed. Copyright for published papers will be transferred to the publisher.
3. Text
When the paper has been accepted, the author will be asked to mind the reviewers' comments and to submit the final version in LaTeX files with figures (and tables) in Encapsulated PostScript (EPS), at least resolution 300 dpi. A special style is not required; the article will be adapted into a special NNW LaTeX style. Exceptionally, when LaTeX is not available, the paper can be submitted in Word files; in this case it will be converted into LaTeX by the editor. In any case, one reference copy of the manuscript (either a PDF file or a hardcopy) will be required. The recommended extent of the paper is 10 to 20 pages.
4. Headings and Abstract
The headings must contain the title, author's name and affiliation and correspondence address (telephone, fax, e-mail). An abstract of 10 to 20 lines must precede and introduce the article.
5. Equations
Mathematical equations must be clearly formulated in order to avoid possible doubts about the meaning of symbols employed. They should be numbered with Arabic numerals.
6. Figures and Tables
Figures should be numbered by Arabic numerals and tables should be numbered by Roman numerals in the order of their appearance in the text. It is recommended that authors accompany each figure or table with a descriptive title giving sufficient information for it.
7. References
The references should be cited in a sequential manner with numbers in square brackets as follows:
